This coming Sunday, Dish Gal is headed to SoCal! Making stops at Santa Barbara to visit Ann, Los Angeles to visit our other college roomie (nickname TBD), and San Diego to stay with Dish Aunt and Uncle!
I've of course already been dreaming of trying In-N-Out burgers, but is there anything else "California" that I must try? I've never been before!
This article about Jose Andres' new hot spot "The Bazaar" in LA caught my eye, and I immediately tried to make reservations, but alas, it was not to be. They are totally booked for weeks. =(
You MUST check out this review and read about this restaurant though. One menu item? "Dragon's Breath Popcorn," a bite of food that makes smoke shoot out your nostril. Don't believe me? Check out the video.

when i was in italy my favorite restaurant was Acqua al due- they only have 2: one in florence and one in san diego!! if you are downtown, you should go! they have an amazing balsamic steak and a bluberry steak!! yum. i would be jealous if you went
I have one for LA! You MUST go get the best breakfast in town at the Griddle Cafe, 7916 W. Sunset in West Hollywood - www.thegriddlecafe.com. My best friend and co-blogger works there and you are guaranteed a celebrity sighting while you eat. By the way have I even told you I have a blog?! You're linked on there! www.wearestillneighbors.com.
Got another one for you. Fantastic dinner I forgot I had on my first visit last year - Cheebo, also on W. Sunset in West Hollywood (http://www.cheebo.com/dinner.html) Italian. I still dream about the "rigatoni with sausage n' mushroom" that I ate there! Their tagline is "If possible, everything is organic, wild, natural, and nothing is genetically modified." Soooo tasty and not expensive, formal, or too much of an LA scene.
Thanks for the suggestions!! Keep 'em coming people!! =)
