I like this article-- it's about two South End chefs who met to talk business and then fell in love. (Cue the "awwwwww"s !) Has a short interview about where they live/what they eat.
They say you should eat to live, not live to eat. I say, I beg to differ. Dish This! is all about living to eat-- the magic of restaurants, the enjoyment of food, the life of a food-lover. So pull up a chair, grab a fork, and get the dish!
Dish Gal believes...
1. that eating a delicious meal does not mean you have to spend a lot of money.
2. that you should always tip 20% (Dish Gal used to be a waitress).
3. that you should try a new restaurant at least once a month.
4. that food always tastes better if it's free
5. that you only get so many meals in your lifetime, so why not make the most of each one?
Become a fan of Dish This! on Facebook! You'll get updates directly from Dish Gal with all the latest news on the New York and Boston dining scene, plus find out when I've posted something new-- like a great recipe for dinner tonight, or a must-try cocktail.
Skylar—loves sharing food, hosting BBQs with her Patriot player neighbors, and Edy's Slow Churned ice cream.
Sebastian-- lover of the cream cheese at Boston Common Coffee Co., pints of Ben & Jerry's, and Wheel of Fortune.
Michelle- fan of Mare, date nights with "PB", and the Boston 80s cover band, Fast Times.
Maeve-- law student by day...law student by night. When she isn't reading legal briefs, likes shopping Whole Foods at Legacy Place.
Jamie— this NYC resident likes ordering the most bizarre items off menus (baked giant artichoke at Cheesecake Factory, anyone?), befriending DJs, and McDonalds.
Ann- college roommate and current Santa Barbara resident. Also, my unofficial big sister. We traveled Europe together, enjoying McDonald's in every country, puffin in Iceland, and late-night doner kebabs in Picadilly Square. Loves skillets of cheese and veggie corn dogs.
Lynn-- Dish Gal's childhood best friend. Her mom's spaghetti with meat sauce may have changed my life.
Jacques-- Skylar's SO. An amazing cook. Loves the vitello tonnato sandwich at Neptune Oyster.
Julia – beloved former coworker and my once daily lunch date. Enjoys her mom’s salads, The Palm, and Marshall’s.
Alec- former coworker who refuses to drink anywhere outside the South End, introduced Dish Gal to $1 PBRs at Toro, and loves wearing Dish Gal's pashminas and/or hats around the office.
Ruth- former coworker and fellow member of our 2 person book club. Loves hitting up South End spots for after-work drinks.
J.Scrib- former coworker who moved to San Diego =( Enjoys J.P. Licks, going to concerts, and vodka with crystal light.
Z- a Boston restaurant manager who loves rooftop and outdoor dining, cooking without recipes, and the beach (but not swimming).
Chloe—a fellow foodie and (former) desk neighbor at work. Frequent visitor to Symphony Sushi and Rami’s, among lots of others.
Dish Bro-- You guessed it, my amazing brother. Loves food and wine. Also instilled in me that anxiety over picking the PERFECT restaurant for each occasion -- which I love him for.
Dish Nephew-- the star of all of our lives. Loves bread, his "ba-ba milk," and ice cream.
Dish Mom and Dish Dad—could possibly be my favorite dining companions. Dish Gal owes her love of food 100% to these two, especially Dish Mom, who has never made the same dish twice (minus holiday fare, or upon request) and fed me gourmet food before I even had teeth (courtesy of a food processor). They love Apollo in Canton, Paul Turano’s cooking (RIP Olio), and their grandson (Dish Nephew) -- a foodie in the making.
